IESO Website

The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) works at the heart of Ontario's power system. The IESO delivers key services across the electricity sector including: managing the power system in real-time, planning for the province's future energy needs, enabling conservation and designing a more efficient electricity marketplace to support sector evolution.

Regional electricity planning process

Regional system planning ensures a reliable supply of electricity to Ontario's 21 electricity planning regions. Regional planning looks at the unique needs of each, and considers conservation, generation, transmission and distribution, and innovative resources to meet these needs.

Regional Electricity Networks

The networks are an opportunity for community members to hear first-hand about issues or innovations impacting Ontario’s electricity sector and to provide input into future electricity planning.

IESO Stakeholder Engagement Framework

Stakeholder input is essential to the IESO’s decision-making process. Under the framework, regular designated monthly engagement meeting dates will be scheduled in advance, on an annual basis.
